Pre Certification is pre-approval of treatment for injuries that are not covered by the state approved care path.

Upon receipt of the claimant's medical records, Active Care will determine the outcome of the Pre-Certification or Decision Point Review within one business day.

Pre-certification uses:

	State-mandated care paths (if applicable)
	Nationally recognized standards of care
	Medical and diagnostic records
	Customary care standards
	The claimant's individual medical history
	Direct contact with the physician by a medical professional to ascertain additional information regarding the physician's treatment plan
