Management Team
Thomas F. Mooney, President, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Mooney has been president of Active care Auto since 1995. He has
led the company through an expansion of core products and services,
driving our national market penetration. Prior to beginning his career
in the insurance industry, Tom taught economics at Ohio State and ran
his own business as an econometrics consultant. He spent 12 years at
Nationwide Insurance where he headed up their country-wide personal
lines operations. In the early 90’s, Tom came to New Jersey to run the
Robert Plan of NJ during the Assigned Riot insurance de-population
era. He earned a BA degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a
MA degree from The Ohio State School of Architecture and several
professional insurance designations, including CPCU, CLU and FLMI.
Bruce Nash, Vice President, CIO
Mr. Nash has over 20 years in the insurance industry. He joined the
Robert Plan Corporation, a division of AIG, in 1982 and was Senior
Vice President and CIO for the PIP Auto Claims and underwriting
company from 1991-2000, at which time he joined Active Care Auto in
the same capacity. Bruce studied computer programming at DePaul
University in Chicago, IL. Bruce currently serves as the Vice
President of Information Systems. He oversees all of Active Care
Auto’s system technologies.
 Joyce A. Newman, RN, CCM, Executive Vice President
Ms. Newman is a Registered Nurse and Certified Case Manager with over
20 years experience in medical case management. She joined Active Care
Auto in 1995. Her prior experience includes nurse manager at Columbia
Presbyterian Medical Center in NY, field and telephonic case
management, and hospital auditing. She has also served as manager of
the workers comp division and marketing. In her current role as
Executive Vice President of Business Development, Joyce manages Active
Care Auto’s client service program and is responsible for all
marketing initiatives, including account acquisition, implementation,
and ongoing support.
 Amanda Dreiss, RN, Assistant Vice President of Bill Review and Network
Development
Ms. Dreiss earned a nursing degree from Englewood Hospital School of
Nursing in Englewood, NJ. She joined Active Care Auto in 1997. Her
background includes staff nursing at Meadowlands Hospital, workers
compensation case manager, business analyst, and IME Supervisor.
Amanda is responsible for Active Care Auto’s bill review and audit
department, network recruitment and credentialing.
Kelly Royce, RN, CCM, VP Managed Care Operations
Ms. Royce earned a nursing degree from Felician College and obtained
her CCM certification in 2006. Her background includes working as a
staff nurse in Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ and as a School Nurse.
Kelly joined Active Care Auto in 2003 as a nurse case manager and has
worked as Supervisor of the Intake Department and Supervisor of
Managed Care. Kelly serves as Director of Active Care Auto.
